Sydney, Australia – Uniseed, the venture fund for commercialising research from Australia’s leading research organisations, announced today its investment in ResusRight, a spin-out company from the University of Sydney and Western Sydney Local Health District focused on developing devices to revolutionise resuscitation. Uniseed managed funds invested $300,000 alongside existing investors as part of a $700,000 SAFE round.
ResusRight was founded by a group of clinicians and engineers with a shared mission to create technology that empowers clinicians to deliver high-quality care at birth. ResusRight’s first product, the Juno Training Monitor, has been designed to revolutionise training for neonatal resuscitation. By giving real-time, objective insight into mask technique, volume delivery, and ventilatory rate, it allows educators to provide targeted feedback to trainees and empowers clinicians to regularly refresh their skills by themselves for the first time.
“We are excited to invest in ResusRight, a company that is transforming neonatal resuscitation training,” said Dr. Peter Devine, CEO of Uniseed. “Their technology has the potential to make a significant impact and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success.”
ResusRight is also developing a clinical monitor to assist during resuscitation at birth, to support clinicians with ensuring that every baby gets the best start to life.
“We are grateful for Uniseed’s investment in our company and their support for our mission,” said Matt Boustred, CEO of ResusRight. “We believe our technology has the potential to save lives and should be at every birth. The whole team is very motivated to get it into hospitals where it can begin to help vulnerable babies.”
